Astro Park will be built at a cost of 100 crores
The country's first Astro Park cum Science City will be developed at Haldwani in Uttarakhand at a cost of about 100 crores. About 15 acres of land is being searched to develop this park, in view of which District Magistrate Nainital, Director of ARIES and DFO Terai Central Forest Division have done a terrestrial inspection of the land near Teenpani in Haldwani. The land near Teenpani Open University has been identified and proposed for Astro Park.
Space related studies will be done in the park
According to DM Nainital, studies related to space can be done in this park. Not only this, along with the development of education of the students getting education in astronomy from India and abroad, the tourism of the region will get a boost. He said that along with science lab, hostel, data center and science park will also be constructed for the students in Astropark. He said that connectivity will be given to Astropark from Okhalkanda, Nainital, Asia's biggest temple, ARIES telescope.

According to Professor Dipankar Banerjee, Director of ARIES, Astro Park will keep an eye on all kinds of activities happening in space, not only Kumaon, but students, researchers and scientists of the country and the world will also come here to see it.
