Shardiya Navratri will start from 26th September and will continue till 05th October.
Navratri festival has special significance in Hinduism, in which special worship of Goddess Durga is offered. According to the Hindu calendar, there are a total of four Navaratris in a year, of which two are Gupt Navratri, Chaitra Navratri and Shardiya Navratri. Chaitra and Shardiya Navratri have a special place. In this, nine different forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped. On the first day of Navratri i.e. on Pratipada Tithi, with the establishment of the Kalash, the worship of Maa Durga starts with rituals. Among the nine forms of Mother Durga, the first form is that of Goddess Shailputri. Another form of Maa Durga is that of Maa Brahmacharini. The third form is of Chandraghanta, the fourth is Kushmanda, the fifth form is Skandmata, the sixth is Katyayani Devi, the seventh form is that of Maa Kalratri, the eighth is of Mahagauri and the ninth is of Maa Siddhidatri.
On the first day of Navratri,
worshiping the mother starts by setting up the Kalash. According to the scriptures, the Kalash is a symbol of happiness, prosperity, wealth and good wishes. According to Vastu, the northeast (north-east) is considered the place of water and gods and goddesses and most positive energy resides in this direction. Therefore, keeping the Kalash in this direction removes the Vastu defects related to the water element and brings happiness and prosperity in life. According to Vastu Shastra, the north-east direction is considered to be the best for worship. Worshiping Mata Rani in this direction gives full fruit of worship to the worshiper.
Kanya Puja has special significance on Navratri.
It is believed that the goddess resides in the girls. According to Vastu, on the holy festival of Navratri, treating the girls as goddess and giving them food and respect, the Vastu defects of the house are removed. With the attainment of happiness, prosperity, opulence, one gets rid of the malefic effects of planets. Take special care that the place where the mother's court is being decorated should be clean, there is no dust-soil, spider webs, it increases the negative energy.
The area of Mother Goddess is considered to be south and south-east direction, so it should be kept in mind that while worshiping, the face of the worshiper should remain in the south or east. Worship facing the east, which is considered a symbol of power and prosperity in Vastu, awakens our intelligence and worshiping facing the south direction gives mental peace to the worshiper, the troubles of the house are destroyed.
